Firefighters put out a fire that burned through the roof of a commercial building in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles Saturday only to discover a cannabis growing operation inside.
The fire was reported at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 11677 Sheldon St., west of Glenoaks Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
“Firefighters achieved extinguishment in 28 minutes, primarily via the roof, due to extensive interior access issue,” Lantz said.
No injuries were reported, she said.
The LAFD Cannabis Unit and Los Angeles Police Department were notified of the discovery, Lantz said.
