A 60-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a car as she attempted to cross a street in Long Beach was identified Tuesday.

The woman was struck about 6:20 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of East Anaheim Street and Rose Avenue.

Long Beach Police Department officers dispatched to the location found the woman in the roadway and attempted to give her lifesaving aid. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and rushed her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified her Tuesday as Seila Tes, who sustained blunt force injuries.

According to preliminary findings, a 2022 Honda Accord was traveling west on East Anaheim Street when it struck the woman as she was attempting to cross the street in an unmarked crosswalk.

“Speed, impaired and distracted driving do not appear to be contributing factors into this collision,” according to police department street. “The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.”
