A pedestrian was fatally struck Friday in Santa Ana.
Around 8:20 a.m. Friday, the Santa Ana Police Department urged motorists to avoid Main Street between Dyer Road and Alton Avenue while police investigated the crash.
The driver did not stop at the scene of the collision as required by law. A description of the hit-and-run vehicle was not provided.
It was unclear if the person was in a marked crosswalk. There were no details immediately available about the crash, nor about the victim.
