A woman who was struck by two vehicles in Santa Ana and killed was identified by authorities Saturday.
The pedestrian was struck at about 5:30 a.m. Friday in the area of 3000 S. Main St., just south of East Dyer Road, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Cecilia Janeth Sierra, 31, of Costa Mesa was found by officers lying unresponsive in the roadway. Orange County Fire Authority personnel also responded and pronounced Sierra dead at the scene.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, Sierra was walking eastbound across traffic lanes on Main St. when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound,” police said. “While lying in the roadway, Sierra was struck by a second vehicle, also traveling northbound, which fled the scene. The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.”
