One of two people killed in the fiery weekend crash of a Ferrari on Angeles Crest Highway was a noted video-game developer who formerly ran the studio famous for the “Call of Duty” franchise, it was reported Monday.

Vince Zampella, 55, a co-founder Chatsworth-based Respawn Entertainment, was one of the victims, according to NBC4.

The California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to an emergency text notification at 12:43 p.m. Sunday.

First-responders pronounced one person dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash, while a second person was rushed to a hospital. That person was later pronounced dead, NBC4 reported.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes were stopped at a nearby tunnel on the two-lane highway following the crash, according to the CHP.

Respawn, founded in 2010, was acquired by EA in 2017.

Zampella headed up Respawn Entertainment and was the former CEO of video-game developers Infinity Ward, the studio behind the Call of Duty franchise, according to NBC4’s report.
