One person was hospitalized with moderate injuries and six adults, one child and two dogs were displaced Wednesday by a residential fire in Indio.
The blaze was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday at a two-story, multi-unit dwelling in the 83000 block of Dr. Carreon Boulevard, near Jackson Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Crews encountered fire coming from the building, which was contained by its sprinkler system about 4:11 p.m., authorities said.
The Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced individuals.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
