A 50-year-old man who was hospitalized in grave condition Friday after firefighters found him inside a burned residence in Van Nuys has died.
Firefighters located the man shortly after 4:40 p.m. in the 6900 block of North Burnet Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The man was discovered during a search of the property and was transported to a hospital for treatment, Stewart said.
The man was pronounced deceased later Friday evening.
His identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Arson investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
