A man was robbed Saturday morning, allegedly by a 15-year-old boy in Long Beach, where a shot was fired but no one was injured during the robbery, authorities said.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and officers recovered a firearm, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers responding at 1:35 a.m. Saturday to an unrelated battery in the area of Broadway and Tribune Court spotted the robbery nearby.
“During the robbery, a physical altercation occurred and the suspect fired the gun. The suspect fled the scene as officers arrived. No injuries were reported,” according to a police statement. “Officers located and arrested the suspect nearby. Officers recovered the firearm.”
The investigation was ongoing.
