Crews put out a non-injury fire in an apartment in Del Rey section of Los Angeles Monday.
The fire was reported about 11:55 a.m. in the 5000 block of South Slauson Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The first-arriving firefighters encountered smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story, garden-style apartment building, LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said.
Thirty-five firefighters responded and put the fire out in 16 minutes, containing it to the second floor, Middleton said, adding that the cause of the blaze was under investigation.
