A suspicious package investigation caused trains to bypass a Studio City Metro station for nearly two hours Monday.

The item was found by Metro Transit Security personnel about 6:30 a.m. on the mezzanine level of the Universal/Studio City Station at 3901 Lankershim Blvd., according to Metro.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Metro notified the Los Angeles Police Department, who temporarily closed the station while they investigated,” the agency said in a statement.

Trains on Metro’s B Line bypassed the Universal/Studio City station and bus shuttles were deployed to move riders between the North Hollywood and Hollywood/Highland stations.

The package was removed by police and the all-clear was given about 8:15 a.m., according to Metro.
