One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Santa Clarita Tuesday, creating a rush-hour delay when one of the vehicles overturned.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 3 a.m. Tuesday to the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Magic Mountain Parkway where they found a box truck, a gold Toyota Camry and a semitrailer collided, blocking several lanes of the freeway when the box truck flipped over during the crash, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Kravig said. The name, age and gender of the victim were not immediately known.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of three lanes of the northbound freeway at Magic Mountain Park for three hours while the CHP investigated the cause of the crash.
