Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday are investigating a shooting in Palmdale that was possibly gang related and prompted by graffiti tagging.

Deputies from the Palmdale Station were called at 10:23 p.m. Tuesday to the 2100 block of East Palmdale Boulevard between 21st E and 22st E regarding a shots fired call, LASD Deputy Daniel Dominguez told City News Service.

A group of people were spray painting the back walls of a hardware store in a nearby alley when a second group approached them and in response the group spray painting fired several shots at them, Dominguez said.

The suspects ran away from the scene in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.

Video from the scene showed investigators collecting evidence behind the hardware store and a large wall tagged with graffiti.
