A Metro A Line train and a pickup truck collided in Central Los Angeles Wednesday morning, causing the train’s lead car to derail but injuring no one.

The collision was reported at 4:16 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Washington Boulevard and San Pedro Street, just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, which was doing traffic control at the location.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded, but did not take anyone to a hospital.

The driver of the involved vehicle got out of the pickup and declined treatment, according to an LAFD spokeswoman.

Video from the location showed the white vehicle in front of the derailed train car, which appeared to have struck the passenger side of the truck.

Service on Metro’s A Line was disrupted between the Washington and Grand stations with bus shuttles replacing train service at the San Pedro Station until about 8 a.m., according to Metro.

Service on the E-Line was also affected as both lines share a single track at the Pico Station, according to the agency.

Both lines resumed regular service by about 9 a.m., Metro reported.
