During jury selection for his trial, a 42-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday to repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl he is related to, starting when she was 5 in Santa Ana.
Tomas Alonso pleaded guilty to three counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and three counts of forcible lewd acts on a child, all felonies. As part of the plea agreement, four felony counts of lewd acts with a child were dismissed.
Alonso was scheduled to be sentenced March 20.
Alonso sexually abused the girl from when she was 5 to 7 years old, prosecutors said. The victim told police he abused her three or four times a month over the two years, prosecutors said in court papers.
