A 39-year-old man who was found stabbed to death at a Northridge apartment was identified by county authorities Saturday.

He was identified as Corey Anderson by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Station responded at 11:31 p.m. Thursday to 8617 Wilbur Ave., between Parthenia and Napa streets, regarding a disturbance.

Arriving officers learned a suspect had been engaged in an argument with the victim Anderson and during the confrontation, Anderson was stabbed, an LAPD spokesperson told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where Anderson was pronounced dead. The medical examiner’s office said Anderson died from “multiple sharp force injuries.”

The suspect ran away but was captured and arrested at a nearby Vons supermarket, according to reports from the scene.

The department’s Valley Homicide Bureau will be in charge of the investigation.
