An SUV struck a pole in South Whittier Saturday morning and the motorist behind the wheel of that vehicle was arrested in connection with the crash, authorities said.
The crash occurred at 5:31 a.m. at Bonavista Lane and Lambert Road, where a beige Toyota 4Runner struck a pole, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver was arrested and a dog inside the vehicle was handed over to animal control officers.
No further details were released about the possible charges against the driver.
