An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 struck near North Shore Tuesday, with no reports of injuries or structure damage.
The quake struck shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday northeast of North Shore, 15 miles west north-west of Thermal and 40 miles west north-west of Palm Springs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey,
The quake had a depth of 1.2 kilometers.
