Police Tuesday asked for the public’s help in identifying a woman suspected of fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run collision in the Fairfax district that left a 50-year-old woman injured.
Officers responded at 12:55 p.m. on Oct 4 near Pico Boulevard and Hayworth Avenue after reports of a traffic collision involving a parked food truck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A white Nissan Pathfinder was traveling westbound on Pico Boulevard when it rear-ended the parked food truck, police said. The impact caused an occupant to be ejected onto the roadway.
The suspect, described only as a woman, fled the scene on foot, police said.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the victim to a hospital in stable condition, police said. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run collision was urged to contact LAPD West Traffic detectives at 213-473-0216. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
