A man sustained unspecified injuries following a stabbing Monday in the Leimert Park area, police said.

The stabbing occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Monday near McClung Drive and Stocker Street West, where a large group was present in the area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said an ambulance was requested following a man sustaining possible stab wounds, but it remains unclear if the victim was taken to a hospital.

Details about what led up to the assault were not immediately provided, as officers continued investigating.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said paramedics responded to the scene shortly after 2:15 p.m., but their response was later canceled due to a tactical operation at the location.

Leimert Park was also where Monday’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade concluded, which annually draws thousands of spectators.
