An armed suspect who was barricaded in a South Los Angeles residence was arrested Wednesday after a four-hour standoff.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to East 33rd and San Pedro streets regarding a neighborhood dispute and when they arrived at the scene, they learned the suspect was armed with a rifle and had barricaded himself inside a residence, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The department called out its Special Weapons and Tactics team, which attempted to negotiate a surrender with the suspect.
The suspect surrendered at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and was taken into custody, police said. No officers were injured.
