Two people were killed in a two-car collision at what officers say is a major intersection in Santa Clarita, the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department said Saturday.
Deputies from the LASD’s Santa Clarita Station responded at 11:30 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road. When they arrived, the deputies found several people injured. Multiple people were taken to a hospital and one person was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Joana Warren told City News Service.
One of the victims who was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The conditions of the other victims were not immediately known, Warren said.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and the intersection was closed for several hours as authorities worked the scene and gathered evidence.
