A 31-year-old Las Vegas woman has been charged with stealing more than $2,000 in merchandise from an Irvine Ulta beauty store, according to court records obtained Monday.

Jasele Alicia Villanueva was charged Friday with a felony count of grand theft.

She pleaded not guilty in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and was scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing Feb. 18 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Irvine police alleged she was also responsible for more than $60,000 in thefts from Ulta stores across Nevada and Arizona.

Irvine detectives worked with law enforcement agencies in those states and learned she had active extradition warrants tied to those cases, police said.

Villanueva was arrested Wednesday at an apartment in Corona, in Riverside County, and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of grand theft and organized retail theft, according to police.
