A 53-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Hemet, authorities said.
Shanna Webster of Hemet was fatally injured at about 6 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of N. San Jacinto Street, according to the Hemet Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive woman lying in the roadway, where they began performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.
Webster was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed she entered the roadway for unknown reasons, police said.
The driver, whose identity was not revealed, was cooperative with investigators at the scene. Impaired driving was not suspected to a factor in the crash, police said.
