A man climbed a power pole in Echo Park Tuesday morning and refused to come down for hours.
Police were alerted that a man had climbed a pole in the 1400 block of Sunset Boulevard, near the Vin Scully entrance to Dodger Stadium, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were at the scene trying to get the man to climb down, but after three hours he remained up the pole, appearing to be dangerously close to exposed wires.
A stretch of Sunset Boulevard was closed as the situation played out, according to a report from the scene.
Power poles in neighborhoods are commonly 35-45 feet tall.
