An at-risk 67-year-old woman was reported missing after last being seen in Compton Friday, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.
Aminta Benitez was last seen at about 5 p.m. Friday near Harris Avenue and East Myrrh Street, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Benitez was described as a 5-foot-tall woman weighing 140 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket, dark gray pants, black shoes, and a pink hat.
Anyone with information regarding Benitez’s whereabouts was urged to contact 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
