A pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday in Jurupa Valley.
The man was struck just after midnight Saturday near Van Buren Boulevard and Jurupa Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Responding deputies found the man in the roadway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorist who struck the man fled the scene, sheriff’s officials said. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the driver.
The suspect vehicle was described as a sedan with major damage to the front, but the color was unknown.
The pedestrian was identified by the Coroner’s Office as 22-year-old Sean Heiderich of Los Angeles.
Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Road and Limonite Avenue was temporarily closed during investigation.
