A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Monday at an intersection in Lake Balboa.
The victim, described only as a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:10 a.m. crash at Balboa Boulevard and Saticoy Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and was cooperating with the investigation, according to an LAPD officer.
Metro buses were rerouted around the location, and motorists were advised to avoid the area while authorities investigated.
