The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday for the 28th time in 29 days, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.685, its highest amount since Dec. 2.

The average price has risen 32.8 cents over the past 29 days, including 1.1 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose 20 consecutive days, dropped three-tenths of a cent Feb. 18 and resumed increasing the following day.

The average price is 5.8 cents more than one week ago and 32.3 cents higher than one month ago, but 9.7 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.809 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the 29th consecutive day, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.632, its highest amount since Dec. 2. It has increased 38.9 cents during the streak, including 1.9 cents on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 7.1 cents more than one week ago and 38.8 cents higher than one month ago, but 10.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.827 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the eighth time in nine days, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $2.983. It has risen 6.6 cents over the past nine days, including 2.4 cents on Wednesday. The national average price increased four consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent on Sunday and resumed increasing on Monday.

The national average price is 5.4 cents more than one week ago and 10.2 cents higher than one month ago, but 15.1 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.033 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
