A vehicle with five armed robbery suspects crashed into a hedge in Beverly Hills near the crime scene Saturday, injuring four people, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 10:54 a.m. Saturday at Santa Monica Boulevard and Foothill Road, Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. Chris Coulter told City News Service.

There had been an armed robbery a few minutes before of a person on the street and arriving officers spotted the vehicle being driven recklessly from that scene, Coulter said. They followed the vehicle and it crashed into a hedge where Foothill Road dead-ends into Santa Monica Boulevard.

The initial call indicated four males committed the armed robbery but officers found five inside the vehicle, he said.

Four suspects were taken by ambulances to hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Coulter said. The suspects were described as four adults and one 17-year-old boy.
