A 77-year-old man who was fatally shot in Santa Fe Springs has been identified, authorities announced Monday.
Officers from the Whittier Police Department responded at approximately 5:27 p.m. last Thursday to a shots-fired call at a residence in the 11600 block of Telegraph Road, near Jersey Avenue. They found two victims — a man and a juvenile — suffering from gunshot wounds and stab wounds, respectively, the police department said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the juvenile victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the man Monday as Omar Wynter, who sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.
According to police, there are no outstanding suspects, but no further information was available.
