A 32-year-old Los Alamitos man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of raping an unconscious 17-year-old girl and possessing child pornography.

Glenn Canyon Childers also denied charges of possessing Adderall, Xanax, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, psylocybin and ketamine.

Los Alamitos police began investigating Aug. 31 a report of an underage teen girl given drugs before being sexually assaulted, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Childers was arrested Feb. 24 and was released from custody after posting $100,000 bail, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors asked for more information about other potential victims because Childers has worked as a DJ at children’s parties.

But Childers’ attorney, Michael Guisti, said his client hasn’t worked at a children’s party in a decade.

“The press release from the Orange County District Attorney’s public affairs department is a disappointing attempt to sensationalize a case they had already rejected in August of 2025,” Guisti said.

“My client’s job as a DJ has absolutely nothing to do with the allegations against him. He and the alleged victim had been in a relationship for eight months. He saw the victim’s mother regularly and the alleged victim was well known and part of his circle of friends. He told the police that when he was arrested in August. Cases involving minors are very serious and a misleading press release which implies my client is a predator preying on children at birthday parties is reckless and misleading.”

The District Attorney’s Office responded with this statement:

“Based on the police investigation there is evidence that he had access to children through his job as a DJ. There is nothing sensationalistic about the sexual assault of children and we have an absolute obligation to thoroughly investigate any allegations of the sexual assault of children and ensure that those who prey on children are held accountable.”

Childers is charged with rape of an unconscious person, rape by use of drugs, possession and control of child pornography, all felonies, as well as seven misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He is accused of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography, which included 10 or more images involving a prepubescent minor younger than 12, according to the criminal complaint.

Some of the images include “sexual sadism and sexual masochism” involving minors, the complaint alleges.

Childers is next due in court May 28 for a pretrial hearing in the West Justice Center in Westminster.

He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol March 6, 2024, and was placed on three years of information probation.
