A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi truck on the Foothill (210) Freeway in La Cresenta Tuesday evening.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 10:02 p.m. to the eastbound freeway near the La Cresenta Avenue on-ramp regarding reports of a crash. According to reports from the scene, a semi truck struck the pedestrian as they were attempting to cross the freeway.
The victim — whose name, age and gender were not immediately known — was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the eastbound La Cresenta Avenue on-ramp for one hour while it investigated the cause of the crash.
