A 66-year-old pedestrian who was killed by a vehicle in Palm Desert was identified Tuesday.
Shannon Daly of Millcreek was fatally struck around 7:40 a.m. March 3 in the intersection of Portola Avenue and Retreat Circle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies found Daly lying in the roadway suffering from significant injuries. Paramedics arrived a short time later and took her to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not identified, was cooperative with investigators. It did not appear alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, authorities said.
