A train struck and fatally injured a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Glassell Park, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 2705 Media Drive, just east of North San Fernando Road, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
Paramedics determined the victim was dead at the scene, LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said, adding that the person’s age and gender were not immediately available.
No additional patients were located aboard or around the train, Lantz said.
