An investigation was underway Wednesday into a shooting involving a Maserati driver who was wounded before crashing in Panorama City.
The crash was reported about 7 p.m. Tuesday near Ventura Canyon Avenue and Cantara Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The luxury car ended up on the sidewalk with bullet riddled windows and doors. Police did not identify the make and model of the vehicle.
Officers were called to a hospital, where the driver had self-transported after suffering at least one gunshot wound, an LAPD spokesman said.
The victim, who was in stable condition, told investigators a man fired the shots at his car from a balcony in the 8400 block of Cedros Avenue, police said.
