A Silver Alert was activated Thursday on behalf of an at-risk 80-year-old man last seen in West Los Angeles.
Nicholaas Hoogesteijn was last seen at approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday near the area of Westwood and Olympic boulevards, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Hoogesteijn was described as a 5-foot-6-inch-tall man weighing 140 pounds with gray and balding hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown and blue pullover along with blue sweatpants and gray shoes.
Anyone with information regarding Hoogesteijn’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
