A 37-year-old man who was found fatally shot in Bellflower was identified Friday by county authorities.

Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Friday are investigating the death of a man who was found shot in Bellflower and the suspected shooter is on the loose.

Juan Corrales was found by deputies at approximately 12:17 a.m. Wednesday in the 14000 block of Bellflower Boulevard, north of Rosecrans Avenue near T. Mayne Thompson Park and St. John Bosco High School, suffering from gunshot wounds, said LASD Homicide Lt. Michael Modica.

Corrales was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s and was pronounced dead at the scene in the rear parking area of an apartment complex.

Modica told reporters at the scene the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence dispute involving someone known to Corrales, who was leaving the complex with a female when someone came out and shot him.

The lieutenant said it “wasn’t a random act of violence,” and there is no threat to the public.

Anyone who has information about the shooting was urged to contact the LASD Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Callers who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 213-628-2013 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
