A person was injured Friday trying to a put out a fire in a 19-story high-rise building in downtown Los Angeles.
The fire was reported about 1:15 p.m. Friday in a sixth-floor unit of the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The injured patient inhaled smoke and was being taken to a hospital, the LAFD reported.
Responding companies included hazardous materials specialists who were tasked with disposal of a burned lithium-ion battery.
No evacuations were required, according to the LAFD.
