An intersection in Lancaster was temporarily shut down Sunday morning to allow California Highway Patrol officers and sheriff’s deputies to investigate a report of shots heard in the area of a routine traffic stop, authorities said.
The shots were heard at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of 15th Street East, north of East Avenue I, where CHP officers were conducting a routine traffic stop, according to the agency.
The intersection of 15th Street East and East Avenue I was shut down and more CHP officers as well as deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster station were called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
The investigation turned up no evidence of a shooting or suspects and the intersection was cleared at 2:50 a.m.
