A man who was shot to death in a business area near the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Commerce was identified by county authorities Tuesday.
The shooting was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 7700 block of East Slauson Avenue, near Gage Avenue, Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told City News Service.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Koerner said.
He was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Davion McKinney, 35, who died of a gunshot wound to his body.
McKinney’s place of residence was not immediately available and suspect information has not been released.
Homicide detectives were summoned to investigate the killing, Koerner said.
