Police sought the public’s help Tuesday in locating a 21-year-old man suspected of attempting to kidnap two girls in North Hills.
The suspect allegedly approached the victims about 5:20 p.m. Sunday near Columbus Avenue and Acre Street and offered them a ride, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The girls, ages 12 and 16, entered the vehicle near Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue, according to KTLA, citing police.
The suspect then locked the doors and drove them to a cul-de-sac in the 8900 block of Lemona Avenue, where they managed to escape, the report said.
It was not immediately clear whether the victims were injured or assaulted.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, about 200 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on both arms. He was last seen driving an older four-door sedan with no license plate information available, the LAPD said.
