A man is in critical condition Wednesday after he was shot by an assailant at a park in Lancaster and the suspect is in custody.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department’s Lancaster Station were called at 7 p.m. Tuesday to 716 W. Oldfield St. and West J Avenue, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound in nearby Jane Reynolds Park, Lt. J. Elizondo told City News Service.
The victim was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster in critical condition .
Deputies set up a containment around the park and shortly after the shooting, the suspect was arrested, Elizondo said.
