A Banning woman suspected of stabbing a man during a domestic dispute was behind bars Thursday.
Tammy Harlane Smith, 58, was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning Wednesday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, according to the Banning Police Department.
Bail information was not immediately available.
The stabbing was reported around noon Wednesday in the 1100 block of Oregon Trail.
Officers arrived and found a man, whose identity was not revealed, from an apparent knife attack. He was treated by parademics at the scene and he was later taken to a local hospital. Police said his injuries didn’t appear life-threatening.
Investigators revealed the alleged assault occurred during a domestic dispute outside the residence. It was not immediately clear what the relationship was between the victim and suspect.
Smith was taken into custody without incident.
