A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Northridge was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office Monday as a 53-year-old man.

His name was Hani Haddad, whose place of residence was not disclosed.

Firefighters responded at about 7:25 p.m. Friday to the 17200 block of Chase Street, north of Roscoe Boulevard, after receiving reports of a person injured after being struck by a train, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Haddad was “beyond medical help” and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the LAFD.

His exact cause of death was listed as deferred.
