A man was found unresponsive in an police vehicle in front of the Azusa Police Station and later pronounced dead at the scene, authorities sad Friday.
Officers located the man at approximately 4:50 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of North Alameda Avenue, near Foothill Boulevard, where he was sitting inside the vehicle, which was pending mandatory maintenance, according to media reports.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived at the location and attempted life-saving measures, but despite extensive efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after their arrival, around 5 a.m.
His name was not immediately available.
The Azusa Police Detective Bureau assumed the investigation, and the case is expected to be submitted to the Justice System Integrity Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for formal review.
