A man was hospitalized Friday after being shot while riding a bicycle by assailants in Whittier and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Deputies from the department’s Pico Rivera Station were called to the 11500 block of Washington Boulevard and Westman Avenue at 2:08 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, deputies learned the victim was riding past a white vehicle with two suspects inside who fired multiple shots at him, LASD Deputy Daniel Dominguez told City News Service.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and took the victim to a hospital in an unknown condition.
According to reports from the scene, multiple shell casings were found on the sidewalk where the shooting occurred.
There was no suspect information.
