A 31-year-old man whom authorities said was being chased by police when he crashed into a car in Pomona, leaving two people dead — one of whom was a pregnant woman — was charged Friday with murder and other counts.
Marshall Campbell Judson is set to be arraigned Monday in a Pomona courtroom, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Judson is facing two counts of murder, one count each of murder of a human fetus, assault upon a peace officer or firefighter and carrying a concealed, loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle and three counts of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle causing death, according to the criminal complaint.
According to the Pomona Police Department, officers responded about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to a domestic violence call in the 400 block of East 10th Street, about a quarter-mile east of Garey Avenue.
“When officers arrived and were speaking with the victim, the suspect returned to the location in a truck, driving recklessly and intentionally struck a parked patrol vehicle,” according to a police statement. “The suspect then fled the scene, initiating a police pursuit.”
Officers chased the suspect south on Garey Avenue, where his truck collided with a car near the intersection of Garey Avenue and County Road. Both people in the car, reported to be a silver Ford sedan, were pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
One victim was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as 25-year-old Jennifer Loera-Zarco. She was pregnant, according to the District Attorney’s Office. It was not immediately clear how far along she was in her pregnancy.
Judson was arrested at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday by Pomona police and remains behind bars in lieu of $4 million bail, jail records show.

Charged is one thing, convicted is another. California doesn’t punish anyone and if they do, they are out early.
