A fire that erupted Monday at a residential property in Valle Vista destroyed two outbuildings and scorched nearly a quarter acre of vegetation before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the 43300 block of Cedar Avenue, near Howard Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews from the county and nearby Hemet Fire Department were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the unoccupied outbuildings, extending into surrounding brush.
There were reports of a propane tank exploding, and power lines collapsed during the blaze, elevating hazards for firefighters.
As of 4:40 p.m., the vegetation fire was contained, and crews were working to completely extinguish the flames in the outbuildings, according to reports from the scene.
Neighboring properties were not impacted.
There was no word on what might have triggered the blaze.
