An attic fire at the Magic Castle in Hollywood was extinguished in 41 minutes by firefighters Tuesday.
Firefighters responded around 5:29 p.m. Tuesday to the world-famous home of the Academy of Magical Arts, where flames were reported in the attic.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said first-arriving crews operated in an offensive mode, coordinating roof ventilation, fire suppression and salvage operations on the third floor.
A total of 68 firefighters knocked down the fire and no injuries were reported.
The extent of damage to the building was not immediately known.
Lantz said roof work at the building was considered a possible cause of the fire.
KTLA5 reported that employees told firefighters construction workers had been on the roof using blow torches to melt rubber roofing material, which may have been related to the fire.
