A suspect who allegedly threatened people with a knife as they were trying to have a midnight meal in Van Nuys was arrested early Monday.

Officers were called at about 12:15 a.m. Monday to a Ralph’s parking lot in the 7200 block of Woodman Avenue after getting a report that a man with a knife was chasing and threatening people.

The man entered a Norm’s restaurant, still holding the knife, and began threatening people inside, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and video recorded at the location.

Outside the restaurant, the man is seen getting into a subsequent confrontation with another man as sirens are heard in the background. The suspect then tried to walk off, but officers found him and took him into custody, an LAPD spokesman said.

No injuries were reported.
